Tenba PM17C Messenger bag 638-231

Laptop bags for 17 inch monsters of a decent quality and decent design tend to be far and few between. Even amidst the rare few manufacturers that are willing to provide for such uncommon 'want to port' laptop dimensions, they're usually a little hit and miss in terms of actual fit. Then you also have the extremes of visually pleasing design at a premium, cheese grater like visual appearance but extreme quality in terms of strength/dura...

YONGNUO RF-603C wireless radio flash trigger

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Monday, February 10, 2014, In : Accessories
words and image source/photographer : Eksovichea Tito Hak

The RF-603C usually comes as a pair. The reason being that one is usually mounted on the hot-shoe mount of your Canon DSLR and acts as the master radio wireless flash trigger, and the other will act as the receiver whilst usually having a flashgun mounted on it that doesn't have radio wireless flash capabilities, which basically completes your simple off camera radio wireless flashgun trigger setup. You can also buy additional RF-603C u...

YN560-III speedlight flash

Essentially a general external camera flash with manual controls, it will work on Canon or Nikon DSLR's. It's manual in the sense that the flash settings won't automatically change as you alter the settings on your Canon DSLR camera body and lens. You have to tap in the appropriate intended settings that you're going to use on your camera via the controls on the back of the flash even when its mounted on the camera!  Flashguns with auto...

Stumped for lack of a laptop/desktop client for your mobi eye-fi card?

Maybe you blew 50 quid on a class 10 16GB mobi eye-fi SD card with the intention of adding some fast and fuss free wi-fi capabilities to your compact camera or DSLR,... only to realise too late that the mobi versions compatibility is limited to android and iOS devices via the freely downloadable software. ...camera wi-fi adding fail fail.

Yup, it turns out that you need the pro x 2 version of the eye-fi card if you want fully supported la...

I'd finally managed to get hold of an actual NEX lens to use with the F3 body. Overall I was pretty impressed, here what I made of it. [18-55 mm Sony E-mount O.S.S. kit lens]

Sanyo's ENELOOP high capacity NiHM AA & AAA batteries, some of the best batteries that you can buy to use with your camera gear...

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, In : Accessories
Rechargeable NiMH AA size batteries generally tend to be pretty bad at lasting the course, especially from experience of using some well known high-street brands such as ENERGIZER (formally Eveready) and Duracell. Unlike Li-ion batteries they generally tend to suffer from the milk bottle effect of not being able to fully charge like when they were new through irregular patterns of charging. They were pretty much useless after a 10 or 20 charge cycles over a few months.

Fortunately though the ...

Solutions for the short battery span on the NEX-F3?

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, In : Accessories
photograher: Eksovichea Tito Hak

With NEX-F3's lack luster battery life performance using the official supplied OEM NP-FW50 lithium -Ion battery, I was kind of thinking an extended battery pack might be something to consider if it was something that was an unfixable flaw of the F3 iteration. But generally having to constantly have an extended hand grip battery pack attached to it at all times would have defeated the purpose of having a NEX camera body to begin with .i.e. having full D-SLR cap...

TechArt bump the price up to $280.80 on their full auto USM EOS EF lens to NEX e-mount adaptor

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Friday, January 18, 2013, In : Accessories
... that's it. But since I'm skint, and not really in the market for one right now it doesn't effect me anyway. I guess they must have seen the RJ adapter. TechArt site here.

Manual only canon EOS EF lens to Sony NEX E-mount adaptors

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, In : Accessories
If at present your budget won't quite stretch a full auto canon EOS EF lens to Sony E mount body adapter there's always the option to get a full manual one. However if you need something like manual aperture control you might want to avoid the mount adapters that go for around a tenner, as they still won't allow you to manually control the aperture iris built into the canon lenses. 20 to 25 quid will get you a manual only canon EOS lens to E-mount adapter with a built in manual aperture iris ...

Soooah many canon lenses, but what other USM canon EOS EF lens mounts are there for NEX camera bodies?

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, In : Accessories
So it looks like I'll be experimenting with a cheap canon EOS lens mount adapter for purely manual control only for the moment. But for all those with the cash to burn now, what other adapter options are there for harnessing the full automated USM features of a Canon lens with Sony NEX camera body? Well there seems to be a number of options to suite budget, and although the Metabones Speed boost reigns supreme other options might seem a little more suitable for particular needs. Here's a look...

So this is the new and improved auto Metabones EOS EF lens to Sony NEX body E-mount adaptor called the "speed booster"... (...its faster)

So this is what it does. Faster and smoother everything. It does it all, and at 599 bones it better be.
