The internet. How do you track all media that gets played and downloaded even if it is just to pay lip service to the artists and producers for the popularity of their content if you can't actually pay them cash??? Lip service being something that won't pay the bills or afford equipment for artist and producer of the none Hollywood mainstream chart scale.

Sure the right mentions by the appropriate organisations and people could potentially be worth more then a million dollars worth of advertisement. But this just generally isn't the case at the everyday level in an everyday kind of way for everyday people. However it evidently does pay off for big organisations and brands when electronics devices are used to represent an impossible ideal that stays projected on a device used by everyday people. That way people individually associate their own individual better perception to a product or device with clever social engineering and psychology that never requires referencing a particular individual.  (read extract from an earlier related post at the end of this)

This type of social engineering and psychology means that a willing user will pretty much automatically build a positive perception of the product that is heavily tainted by their own interests and personality that then gets projected onto it. After which you only then have to give generic positive comments about the device (and not necessarily the individual people) related to particular interests (whether a specific religion, sport, a type of creative art, feminism, women hating (whether actual or flippently), sport, whatever!) to build even greater support and loyalty to it. The i'sm thing isn't only about women. The mechanics of the social engineering would make it possible for women to think it was all about women and and certain guys with the inclination to think it was all about guys without them ever clashing as regards to the actual products or device.

Its strange how certain women think the i'sm thing is all about women and certain guys think it all about guys...

As a flipent example but sort of real, I could say the iPhone is simple and uncomplicated to use, like mens needs to a bunch of latent women haters that might not even realise that they do. Because they've already projected all their perceived better facets of their personality onto the device it only serves to boost the perception of the device. I could maybe also talk about its clean industrial design.

A more realistic and direct example. On the other hand I could highlight how simple and easy to use the device is to women who aren't really tech inclined, after which to subtly suggest its like the ideal of how they would like it to be and maybe thus a bit like them. I wouldn't even need to suggest it because they'd already make the association and assumption just in how the i'sm marketing psychology works. I could also go on to say how beautiful the devices are compared to others.

Obviously this only works for things that aren't considered too contentious within a society or within particular social groups and with positive desirable traits. Which again makes the marketing psychology a little more difficult to break.

But back to my point...

And even when talking about calculating how much cash should be paid the internet is a place where spoof servers and websites can be setup for others to reap the rewards of others efforts, even more so under a seemingly legit front. How easy would it be for someone to steal anothers income from a specific site without them even knowing? I guess we generally wouldn't necessarily be so concerned about multi-billion dollar companies that would still persist and survive regardless but for smaller entities?

This is also where certain big companies couldn't fail as their apparently supposed to represent all the smaller entities despite being a multi-billion dollar giant themselves thats smaller then the even bigger giant thats apparently supposed to be all thats wrong by their reckoning.

But that's the internet. The digital age is great and instant, but I'm almost tempted to print crappy magazines and burn CD's again for my content despite the fact that I might get called out as being a blight on the environment for it. Can you think why?

Related extract from an earlier post I made

Apple were in the full throws of working their very effective commercial and word of mouth marketing strategy using desirably aspirational imagary, clever psychology of the multi-touch "everyone is "i" social engineering kind that made everyone irrationally want to be an "i" device or think they were one, which made phrases like:

- (X) is very artistic...
- (X) is very creative...
- (X) is very untuitive...
- (X) is very althetic...
- (X) is very beautiful...
- (X) is very authentic...
- (X) is very hard working...

...encourage people to promote Apple for them with a passion.

"X" is interchangable with any type of idevice that people under the "spell"  thought they were. In fact you could interchange any of the positive comments for any other type of positive comment that relates to any one particular individuals personal interests and circumstances. (or even groups of individuals that share the same interests).

Also because you are talking about devices that people have strongly  associated their personalities with, you only have to talk about the devices and refer to the devices and not the actual individuals to make many people feel good about themselves thus have stronger positive associations with the device(s)  or product.

Think about it, if you create a situation where an individual or many individuals strongly associate themselves with apparently being a particular device via all these more positive traits that they feel is a representation of them that is competing with other devices on the market, when someone attacks the products or brand the individuals under the "spell" will feel as if they are also personally being attacked and will endeavor to strongly defend it as if it were an attack on their own personal integrity, ability or character. This further ensures the success of the brand or product(s).

Even people who don't own an Apple device can be made to be under the influence of such marketing psychology/social engineering, they don't even need to own one, they just need to be made to think or feel that the device represents them and all the better highlighted aspects of their personality which in turn also then gets projected onto the product. At which point they will also become an agent of promoting the brand or products and be more likely to defend it when someone bad mouths it.

Of course it obviously also helped that the Apple devices were in fact actually very well designed to begin with and I do actually like the Apple Macbook pro and Air purely as computers with very eye pleasing designs.

This kind of marketing psychology works even more so in places like Cambodia and in many other parts of Asia and the Middle East where they're more strongly mentally hard wired to think like this just through the cultural norms. In fact the psychological mechanics of religion is a bit like this however for Apple products its been modified in a way where it has an even broader universal scope whether part of the wealthy elite or the more regular everyday crowd or even sections of the less wealthy.
