Ibiza Rocks Presents Reclaim The Dancefloor (Mixed by Doorly)

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Sunday, June 27, 2010, In : feature: pre Mix DJ albums

If dubs 'n' steps is more your kind of' thing whether in exclusivity or combination you might want to check out the eclecticism of Ministry's latest Ibiza Rocks installment that spans 35 tracks. The DJ mixed album goes right across the urban spectrum dipping into, UK garage, dub step, soulful vocal house, breaks 'n' beats, hip-hop, drum'n'bass and a little electro. But even within its eclecticism it seems to all meld together quite well. Either way its definitely something I might have to g...

Minimal meeting volume 03

Yet again the words in the labeling might throw some people off the scent and as ever the true test is in how the Sonics rub up against your tympanic membrane to possibly connect with those urges of what are hopefully suitably rhythmic body movements unless of course you actually just want to freak out. If you need some steady deep 'n' sexy tech (verging on sleazy but in a good way) destined for those slightly more intimate spaces, then it might be worth taking a look at a few of these trac...

Win a spot on in front of a crowd at the London Electronic Dance Festival

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Thursday, June 17, 2010, In : feature: Events

It looks like Pacemaker and Junodownload want to give one potential lucky winner the chance to pitch a spot to perform amongst the various big names to be gracing the late summer 2 day London Electronic Dance festival. From what I can gather the winner will get to throw down using their DJ skills on any type of DJ gear they like on the Saturday of the LED festival that kicks off on Friday 27th during the month of august at Victoria park. I'm guessing the music you choose to drop is optional w...

Invovl2ver - Sasha on Global Underground

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Monday, June 14, 2010, In : feature: Artist releases

I never understood what the deal was with people who claimed to break down and cry at some of his gigs in the early days but there's no denying that the quality from this fella still being turned out at a good rate. Sure this is old news for all those said to be well into the "scene" whatever that is these days but I thought it was worth a mention all the same as its pretty much well deserved in judging it on its actual merits. I think I must have missed a couple of original artist album rele...

Ministry of electro House Volume 14

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Monday, June 7, 2010, In : feature: DJ centric releases
This ones so fresh that I couldn't find any cover artwork for it of a decent size. Yet another misleading title as I didn't find too much of the types of electro house that people would normally identify with the kinds of popular electro sounds that were making the rounds on the scene whilst the whole electro house thing was blowing up and making its transition from the edge of the underground to partial mainstream footing/recognition. Again this is another bumper fix that spans the house gen...

50 Minimal techno and House Vol 02

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Monday, June 7, 2010, In : feature: DJ centric releases

As with nearly all these DJ intended dancefloor centric unmixed compilations that I'd come across on this particular scouting run the title was a bit misleading. Despite the statement of Minimal and Techno antics to be had here there's plenty of other sub genre specialty spanning too. This is definitely one to bulk out your virtual record box with some solid and very credible sounding obscure floor movers 'n' grooves that I certainly wouldn't be ashamed of dropping into a set without feel...

Unmixed 50 track DJ bumper packs??! Is there enough quality to warrant some of your hard earned cash?

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Monday, June 7, 2010, In : feature: DJ centric releases

Long gone are the days of picking up an un-auditioned  4 CD box set of fresh unmixed and often relatively obscure dance tunes for around 10 to 15 quid. The economics of them might seem good but more often then not it was a bit hit and miss as for the most part as you'd usually end up buying mostly an unmixed compilation of absolute tosh. However from what I can remember I was either just very good at it or was just very lucky to have picked up just the right ones for it to kind of work out. M...
