Back on the techno trail

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Saturday, April 13, 2013, In : feature: DJ sets

It feels just about the right time to pick up on the trail of techno where I'd left off quite a while ago. I've hit one of those points where things kind of sound fresh again on this particular musical strain having stepped back from it all for a while. But as with anything pretty much everything becomes stale when you've had your head buried deep in it all looking for something fresh having been desensitised and spoiled by all the latest and greatest without any kind of break from the specia...

DNCN Live @ Ketoloco Leeds 2006

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Friday, December 14, 2012, In : feature: DJ sets

Me want cookies! A constantly evolving off the cuff trip taking you through from slickly sharp glitched up tech,  fresher refined takes on jackin' techno, quirky floor pounders, streamlined broken beats, and a million other shades and flavors all cohesively bubbling and flowing under the techno flag for alternate floors. In his words...

"Ha. This was too much fun. Raw as hell, wasted as fuck, Leeds 2006. Ableton live set, 16 channels, everything in loops, no set sequence, forgetting where i'd ...

James Zebiella eclecticism (...it works)

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, In : feature: DJ sets

A James Zabiella set. He's one of the few DJ's who have managed to ride that line of credibility whilst seriously pushing the eclectic party vibe where others might have generally fallen to the wayside of any kind of notoriety. Could potentially be one of those too kool for skool DJ's if he took himself a little more seriously and maybe took a less eclectic line, but fortunately for us he doesn't, to still somehow sort of land that too kool for skool zone delivering eclecticism for serious f...

Slick 'n' deep Detroit house sounds brought to you by Jozef K & Ellesse, B2B, Live in Sankeys - 29.09.12

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Monday, October 1, 2012, In : feature: DJ sets

Not much to go on with only half an hour to give you a taster of the more refined deeper taints of detroit house. But it was still more than enough to get in that head nodding zone. Kinda left me itching for the fuller Friday night floor warming session experience. Not bad for a Monday.

Transitions with John Digweed - 20th September 2012 by John Digweed on Mixcloud

Show casing some of the tried and tested bits of the summer and some of the freshest Bedrock signings as seen through the eyes of Jon Digweed over a 60 minute Transitions show. Seems to be fresh off today's press with all the track listings pretty much laid out in the player and over at the Transitions MixCloud page.  If for any reason you're too lazy to read 'em he also pretty much tells what they are over the ...

Sebo K drops much tech deepness via a track that needs IDing...

Posted by Eksovichea Tito Hak on Thursday, September 13, 2012, In : feature: DJ sets

First mention in a long while for this section whilst on some downtime being ill, but off the back off a Sebo K set a fair few solid contenders were put out for show. But with no track listing to be found anywhere details are pretty scant. It’s the first gem to stick out in some time. There's an ever so slight buzz off the lead in track toward the main creme de la creme 35m20s marker track in question where the sonic magic seems to happen in my head, taking it back to solid tech sound that...

Carl Cox's Space revolution continues with Guest headliner Josh Wink

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Saturday, November 13, 2010, In : feature: DJ sets

DanceTrippin 185: Josh Winkfrom DanceTrippin.tvon Vimeo.

Josh Wink eases his way up to a groove driven techno set from an appropriately themed tech tinged- jazz tinted house start up that altogether is pretty much distinctly Wink. Despite the zoomed out contrast the whole thing just melds together nicely for one solid performance. Yet again the video just isn't long enough to give you complete coverage of proceedings leaving you with that unresolved feeling but no doubt he cleaned up in ...

Monika Kruse takes us to the zoo

DanceTrippin 161: Monika Kruse @ Zoo Project Ibiza from DanceTrippin.tv on Vimeo.

Going a few months back to pre twenty-ten-season madness on the sunshine island. Rhythmically bubbling Balearic house is the main order which is served up quite nicely by Monika Kruse's capable hands at the helm.

To be in unexpected sounds

DanceTrippin 178: Timo Maas from DanceTrippin.tv on Vimeo.

This was probably one of the most random clicks I made of the day, but in dropping it was the last thing I expected from the likes of with preconceptions of all out big and epic. However this was definitely more techno and tech driven then I was expecting. Cohesively Smile inducing nicely worked climbs, peaks and deep rhythmic booty shaking rolls taking it exactly where it needed to keeping that in the zone notion at the fore of my m...

Funkerman

Posted by Eksovichea Hak on Monday, July 12, 2010, In : feature: DJ sets
In the space of 24 minutes and 10 seconds managing to prompt several rushes purely from sound alone. All out friction free streamers interspersed with well timed body bouncing grooves with bags of heady momentum topped off with unashamedly cheeky but mind blowing remixes bringing fresh takes to absolutely rinsed numbers. All in all keeping that tingly rush  at the fore of your consious mind up in the old brain box. Like it.
